I think about you in the summer time ...

Hello, Summer! It is so lovely to see you, I do hope you stick around for awhile. Who doesn't love the summer? The heat, tanned skin, cool pools, beach and of course the fun makeup! I decided to start off the summer I'm going to show you my favourite summer lipsticks that I'll be grabbing for the next few months. I'm into really bright and in your face "woah" lipsticks. If you're going to do it, now is the time.

So jump behind the link and check them out

I'm really into crazy pinks right now. I don't know if its because I feel the most comfortable in a pink lip so wearing a brighter version of it is easier for me. Here are those swatches

L TO R: Pink Pop Maybelline, Sweet Experience (LE) MAC, Chatterbox MAC, Candy Yum Yum MAC, Girl About Town MAC, Showy Revlon, Velvet Bite, Grapevine Bite

For a drugstore lipstick, Pink Pop, has a great payoff. It is a cool toned pink, so if you can super pale, I may leave this one behind. I am also not too crazy about the smell but for the price and the payoff I'll take it.

MAC, MAC, MAC, is there a surprise that I have so many of these? Sweet Experience is a limited edition colour from the Play Land collection so if you didn't pick this up you probably have lost your chance. And let me tell you, its such a pale pastel colour that the first time you put it on its a WOAH colour. If you're more on the tanned side, this can make you look a bit crazy and just too harsh so it would have to be mixed with something. Chatterbox sits a bit more on the natural side if you're not comfortable with the bright colours. A medium warm pink will sit well on any skin tone and will look great even with a bold eye.

A huge surprise was Revlon's Colourburst Matte Balm. I picked up two colours on a whim and I have recommended it to everyone I know. Showy is such a sweet soft bright pink that you HAVE TO have. The texture is so light and airy it feels like you are wearing nothing and with a lip liner under this thing will last you for hours.

I can not say enough about the Bite products that I have tried. They are unreal. SO SO pigmented and they last foreverrrr. They are both High Pigment Pencils and are fan-freaken-tastic! Velvet is a nice bright pink with a bit of a blue undertone and Grapevine just a strong in your face magenta.

Below are the swatches on my lips. Please forgive me if these are the greatest photos. They are taken from my phone and I'm still learning the best way to do this.

Alright, you have to know what this season's colour is or you've been living under a rock.... ORANGE. I definitely had to jump onto the bandwagon for this trend and I'll be honest the first time I put an orange lipstick on I wasn't sure how I felt about it but it has grown on me.

L TO R: Sweet & Sour MAC, Coral Bliss MAC, Shocking Coral Maybelline, Unapologetic Revlon, Jeffree Kat Von D

My two MAC picks are recent for me so I am still playing around with them. Sweet & Sour is such a light tangerine pastel. My one downgrade for this shade is that you need to layer it up a bit to be opaque. I would probably only wear this shade with a natural eye because it will be such a harsh strong colour. Coral Bliss in my opinion is my favourite light coral shade I have been looking forever for. I will wear a nude lipliner with this to get the true colour of it. Even though it is orange, it is so soft and elegant and I love it.

Shocking Coral by Maybelline is a strong colour so if orange isn't for you, don't grab this. It is more of a red orange but it is bright. It does stain your lips a little bit so if you don't like to touch up it is a little nice that you will still walk around with a nice stain on your lips.

Again, Revlon's Colorburst Matte Balm in Unapologetic, UNREAL. I didn't realize how close Unapologetic and Shocking Coral were so close but Unapologetic is a bit more pink and a little bit more pink, and obviously matte if you're not putting a gloss on it.

New to me is the Kat Von D's Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Jeffree. I hadn't tried anything from this line before and let me tell you, these lipsticks are no joke. It is obviously a liquid that dries into a matte lipstick. You need to be a little more caution when applying it because it will be streaky. This is not a gloss you can't apply without a mirror and a little bit of time and patience.

Here are the swatches
